Guide me, O Lord

86

3rd Week of Ordinary Time (2nd February, 2019)

First Reading: Mal 3:1-4
Gospel: Lk 2:22-40

Today’s Gospel is from Luke. According to the law of Moses, the first male child born to a family should be consecrated. So along with Jesus Mary and Joseph started to Jerusalem since this law was fitting for him.

As the sacrifice was offered and a pair of turtle doves or two young pigeons were offered to the Lord as per the law of Moses.

At the same time, we read that, there lived a righteous man by name Simeon.

The Holy Spirit was with him in fact he was waiting for the Messiah so that he could see Messiah before his death as revealed to him by the holy spirit.

The same Holy Spirit let him to the temple and the moment Simeon so Jesus he took him in his hands and said the blessings to the Lord and said” Now you may dismiss me from this world”.

A few things to note here are that when we are righteous, we will be blessed and guided by the holy spirit. We just need to surrender our selves.

God, through the holy spirit has plotted our life’s so nicely that we need to say thank you lord all the time.

Let’s keep aside all our worldly chores away for a while and sing for his divine guidance and love. Amen.
